Jim draws on rich and varied business experience to help his clients solve problems. During the course of a legal career that began in 1993, he has interned with the Michigan Attorney General’s Office, clerked for Chief Justice James H. Brickley of the Michigan Supreme Court and District Court Judge John Feikens of the Eastern District of Michigan, and practiced with two large, nationally recognized law firms. Additionally, he was one one of six attorneys representing General Motors Corporation in a range of labor and employment matters.

 
In 2000, Jim formed Allen Brothers, Attorneys and Counselors, PLLC with his brothers, David and John. He draws from his extensive experience and academic background to advise clients on a variety of commercial transactions and represent them in administrative, commercial, and labor and employment matters.
 
Jim received his undergraduate degree with High Distinction from the University of Michigan, and then earned his Juris Doctor with Honors from the University of Michigan Law School, where he was named Benjamin and Ida Alpert Scholar. He also holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Relations from Wayne State University.
