Neil B. Pioch
 
Attorney Neil B. Pioch manages all aspects of civil litigation on behalf of employers and municipalities. Additionally, Mr. Pioch often handles the weekly criminal docket for the City of Inkster, prosecuting and trying misdemeanor and ordinance violations for the city. Mr. Pioch routinely drafts dispositive motions invoking governmental immunity and defending against lawsuits brought under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, among other claims. He also responds to agency charges of discrimination and Freedom of Information Act requests. Clients frequently call upon Mr. Pioch to draft state and federal appeals because of his demonstrated legal research and writing abilities.
 
Mr. Pioch focuses his practice on litigation, municipal law and employment matters.
 
Mr. Pioch has an extensive background in employment law, with a particular emphasis on litigating wage and hour cases. He has both prosecuted and defended large class and collective actions in federal courts throughout the country. Having previously worked at a large Am Law 100 law firm, Mr. Pioch developed expertise in advising in-house attorneys, insurers and human resource professionals in various aspects of the employment relationship, including pre-employment inquiries, background checks, hiring practices, employee discipline, termination decisions, severance agreements and minimum wage and overtime compliance. Over the years, Mr. Pioch has counseled multistate employers as to best practices across a range of industries on employment law matters, including compliance with employee benefit laws, anti-discrimination statutes, FLSA, FMLA, Title VII, ADAAA and Equal Pay Act.
 
Mr. Pioch earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan and his Juris Doctorate from Wayne State University.
