Before joining Allen Brothers in 2018, Matt worked at a small firm that focused almost exclusively on criminal, civil, and administrative representation of taxpayers, primarily before the Internal Revenue Service. He has handled virtually every type of tax-related issue, from the filing of fraudulent tax returns to tens of millions of dollars in unreported income, from appeals to claims for refunds, from failure to disclose foreign financial accounts to penalty abatements, from overturning assessment of the trust fund recovery penalty to offers in compromise, from audits to settlements, and everything in between. Matt has represented clients before multiple federal district courts, the U.S. Tax Court, the Michigan Department of Treasury, the Ohio Department of Taxation, various state administrative courts, and a number of local taxing authorities.

With his thorough command of the internal structure and inner workings of the IRS, Matt has achieved success for his clients at all levels. Irrespective of the issue, size of the liability, or taxing authority in question, he is prepared to assist clients at every step of the way.

Additionally, Matt serves as the prosecutor for the Cities of Hamtramck and Inkster.
