John M. Nader joined the Allen Brothers PLLC as Special Counsel after having served as the Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Officer of the Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority (WDBA), a Canadian Federal Crown Corporation charged with construction of the new Gordie Howe International Bridge between Michigan and Canada under a P3 model, currently the largest infrastructure project in North America. Mr. Nader is an accomplished international lawyer with over twenty-seven years of experience and a proven track record as a municipal and corporate lawyer, In House Counsel and private practitioner. He is a skilled negotiator of complex contracts, large scale real property development transactions and litigation settlements, with demonstrated expertise in diverse types of law.
John focuses his practice on commercial litigation, real property law, contracts and government regulation matters.
Prior to the WDBA, for nearly fifteen years, John served as Senior Assistant Corporation Counsel at the City of Detroit Law Department in the Real Property and Commercial Section. Prior to that, he served as In-House Counsel for a mid-sized real estate holdings corporation. John possesses a deep well of legal experience and knowledge including municipal, administrative, real property, contracts, leasing, procurement, Privacy Acts and Freedom of Information Act, zoning, condemnation, landlord-tenant, Historic Districts, corporate law, commercial and residential development, financing and transactional work, consumer law, appellate law and health care law, with an extensive litigation background. John was called to the State Bar of Michigan in 1988 and the Law Society of Upper Canada in 2006. He also has dual citizenship in the United States and Canada.
John earned both a Bachelors of Arts and a Juris Doctorate from Michigan State University.
